Health Promotion for faculty and staff Appalachian State UniversityThe Health Promotion program provides Appalachian State University staff, faculty, retirees, and their spouses/domestic partners with information, programs, and services that help to promote a healthier lifestyle and a better quality of life. Major components of the program include health and fitness, preventive care, and outreach programs.

We have two locations. Our main location is 12 Varsity Gym.

DIRECTIONS TO HEALTH PROMOTION FOR FACULTY AND STAFF GYM

 Health Promotion for Faculty and Staff is located in Varsity Gym (building conjoined to the Dining Hall). If you enter the gymnasium from Rivers Street, immediately upon entering the glass doors, take the stairs (down) to your left. (next to water fountain) There is a "Health Promotion for Faculty and Staff" poster, at the top of the stairs.

 If you enter Varsity Gym from campus side, you are greeted with the Military Science trophy case. Go down the stairs (two flights), pass vending machines (on your left). Walk across the gymnasium floor (short side) toward Rivers Street. Once you are in the lobby, take the stairs (down) to your right (just past restrooms and water fountain).

 Our second location is at Leon Levine Hall, Health Promotion Lab, Room 253, 1179 State Farm Rd.

Our facilities are available to all faculty, staff, retirees and their spouses/domestic partners at no charge. Before using the facility you must fill out a Health History Form.

Do you want to know what is going on in Health Promotion for Faculty and Staff? Updates Regarding COVID-19

Effective March 16, 2020 Health Promotion for Faculty and Staff will close both our Varsity Gym location and our LLHS location until further notice.

In an effort to ensure everyone’s health and safety regarding the COVID-19, we are actively monitoring the health information provided by the Center of Disease Control (CDC), UNC-System, and Appalachian State University Administration.

As you know, the information on this global pandemic is rapidly evolving. None of us knows what the situation will be tomorrow, but at this time Health Promotion for Faculty and Staff is committed to being responsible and proactive with its decisions.
