For those that have called and e-mailed me asking WHERE IS MY GUN??? You may have noticed we are behind. Since Donald Trump got into office the orders have tripled. Instead of people sending us one or 2 guns to convert, they are sending us 6 or 8 guns at one time. We normally have 100 to 125 orders in our order book. We now have almost 300. This is good news but the other side of the coin is we can't rush and still put out quality guns. I have hired 2 more machinists which brings me to 7 machinists in my 2 machine shops. Another problem is many companies that sell barrels, gun parts, chemicals for refinishing and such are behind also. They were afraid that Clinton would win and didn't want to have a warehouse full of product that they couldn't sell. So now they too are behind. What all this comes down to is we are behind and there is no way to rush things out. I apologize for the delay but we are getting 3 or 4 guns out every week, sometimes a few more. If you are thinking of sending a gun in for customizing, remember, the sooner you send it in, the sooner you get it back. So go ahead and get it to me as soon as you can. Remember, we don't get paid until your gun is finished. So I would like to see them get finished and out the door too. So please hang in there. We will get your gun finished and out to you as quick as we can.

I just was looking through the latest, 2019 Edition of Cartridges of the World. The .41 Special is listed in both the Wildcat Cartridges and Handgun Cartridges section. In the former it is the same information as earlier additions and has my loads which are completely safe., However in the Handgun Cartridges section we find ABSOLUTELY DANGEROUS INFORMATION. There are loads listed for the .41 Special that are 250 ft./s faster than factory .41 Magnum loads. The 170 grain bullet over 12.0 grains of Red Dot for over 1600 ft./s in a .41 Special custom revolver would probably blow the cylinder and top strap.~John Taffin

When Shipping Your Gun

An important note on sending your base gun in. Please do not strip it of the parts and just send the frame in. That just puts us having to call around all over trying to find the inner parts. That also puts you way behind those that sent the entire gun in. I got a gun in yesterday with a bare frame and barrel and another one today. These two fellows are probably going to have to wait twice as long as someone else that sent in the full base gun.

As of now I will no longer accept partial guns in as a base gun unless you clear it with me beforehand. We are all working 12 hour days trying to get your guns done in a reasonable time and I simply don't have the extra time to sit and make calls all over trying to find the parts that you left out. When you send in your gun, you can take it apart if you feel better doing so or if it makes sending it easier with UPS or Fed Ex, but make sure and put all the internal parts in baggies and send them with the gun. http://reedercustomguns.com/information/shipping_info.htm

Thanks,
