    Cassie TOTY

Cassie’s why for being an educator goes back to her sixth grade year. This was a difficult time in her life where hardships in her own life could have led her to lose motivation at school and in life. However, her teachers would not let her fall through the cracks. Her teachers founds ways to connect and push her to be her own motivator. By the end of sixth grade, she knew she wanted to make a difference in children’s lives and become an educator. Her why is to connect with students and to show them how they can grow in all areas so they do it on their own even after she is long gone. Cassie wants her students to feel the same connection she felt so kids can get through those tough moments. If she had to summarize her why into one word, it would be LOVE. She loves to teach, loves her students, loves to be pushed, loves to see growth, loves to make a difference and loves the extended family she has with her students and families.

Our why for having Cassie represent OUESD at the county level is her passion for always doing what is right for each and every one of her students. Everything she does is because of her desire to see students be successful in every way possible. She is the most creative, caring, and connected educator and is always able to create a positive classroom environment in which her students thrive. Watching Cassie teach is like watching a symphony in perfect harmony, but all wrapped into one person that makes magic by connecting to her students and bringing students up to their highest potential.
